Strawberry and Kataifi Delight

Description

A delightful dessert combining the freshness of strawberries with the crunch of kataifi and rich chocolate.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds strawberries, quartered
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces kataifi, chopped and shredded
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 10 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1 dollop whipped cream
  • pistachios, chopped

Instructions

  1. Start by washing and slicing the strawberries. Add the berries to a bowl and sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons of sugar. Set the berries aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the tablespoon of butter to melt and stir in the kataifi. Stir constantly to brown and watch closely so that it does not burn.
  3. Once the kataifi is browned add the pistachio cream and stir to completely coat the kataifi.
  4. Add the cream to a large bowl and microwave for 1-2 minutes to warm the cream but not to boil. Add the chocolate chips to the warm cream and stir until completely melty and smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  5. Layer the Dubai cups by spooning strawberries on the bottom of the cup, followed by the chocolate ganache, and kataifi. Repeat layers to fill the cup.
  6. When ready to serve add a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chopped pistachios.
