Taco Pasta Bake

Description

A delicious and easy Taco Pasta Bake featuring ground beef, pasta shells, and plenty of cheesy goodness.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef (or use chicken and/or turkey)
  • 16 oz pasta shells
  • 15 oz salsa
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  • 2 (1oz) packets taco seasoning (or 1/4 cup if using bulk taco seasoning)
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese or sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400˚F.
  2. Cook pasta. Prepare pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  3. Cook meat. Heat a large dutch oven or oven-safe skillet to high and add meat. Stir and cook until browned. When done, drain off excess grease.
  4. Combine pasta and meat. Add cooked pasta to the meat. If you don’t have a dutch oven or cast iron skillet, you can move everything to a casserole dish.
  5. Add seasoning and salsa. Sprinkle taco seasoning over the meat then pour water over top. Add salsa then stir to combine.
  6. Add cheese. Top your taco bake with shredded cheese. For a creamy sauce, stir in sour cream or cream cheese.
  7. Bake. Add casserole to the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbly.
  8. Add optional toppings. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Top with any taco-style toppings you’d like.
