Deliciously soft and fluffy banana cinnamon rolls topped with creamy icing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup Milk (warmed to 110℉)
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 Large egg (lightly beaten)
  • 2/3 cup Mashed bananas (about 2 bananas)
  • 5 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 cup White granulated sugar
  • 10 TBSP Unsalted butter (cubed for the dough)
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter (for the filling)
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 TBSP Ground cinnamon
  • 2 Bananas (sliced thinly)
  • 4 oz Cream cheese (for the icing)
  • 4 TBSP Unsalted butter (for the icing)
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Mix warm milk and active dry yeast in a bowl and let it bubble for about 5 minutes.
  2. Add beaten egg, mashed bananas, flour, salt, sugar, and cubed butter. Mix until a dough forms and knead for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise until doubled in size.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon for the filling.
  5. Punch down dough, roll out into a rectangular shape, and spread cinnamon filling evenly. Scatter banana slices on top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12-15 pieces.
  7. Preheat oven to 350℉. Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for the icing.
  10. Once rolls are slightly cooled, drizzle with icing and enjoy!
