Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a madeleine pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  4. In another bowl, mix sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Stir in the warm brown butter, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until well combined.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to avoid over-mixing.
  6. Spoon the batter into the prepared molds, filling each about three-quarters full.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and springy to touch. Let cool slightly before serving.
