Description
Delicious madeleines with a hint of maple syrup and a soft, buttery texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a madeleine pan.
- In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Let it cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- In another bowl, mix sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Stir in the warm brown butter, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until well combined.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture to avoid over-mixing.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared molds, filling each about three-quarters full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden and springy to touch. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh maple syrup.
- Allow madeleines to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
