A creamy and savory beef stroganoff made with ground beef, mushrooms, and egg noodles.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing them to soften and release their moisture.
- Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture, stirring to combine. Cook for about 1 minute to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken for about 3-4 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Mix until smooth and heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked egg noodles to the skillet, tossing to combine with the sauce until everything is well coated.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color.
Notes
- This dish can be served over rice instead of egg noodles if preferred.
- You may use mushrooms of your choice, such as cremini or shiitake.
