Deliciously moist and sweet banana chocolate chip bars perfect for dessert or a snack.

- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (113 grams)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200 grams)
- 2 large eggs (100 grams, room temperature)
- 3 bananas, mashed
- ¾ cup buttermilk (170 grams, room temperature)
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract (8 grams)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (240 grams)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder (8 grams)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda (6 grams)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt (3 grams)
- 1½ cups mini chocolate chips (266 grams, divided)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, with a whisk or hand mixer, beat the butter, sugar, and eggs together.
- Add the banana, buttermilk, and vanilla and mix well.
- Stir in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Fold in 1¼ cups of the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Feel free to add nuts for extra crunch!
