Delicious, homemade cinnamon rolls topped with a sweet glaze.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and active dry yeast, then add sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups flour, melted butter, eggs, salt, and yeast mixture. Stir to blend, then gradually add remaining flour until you have a soft, elastic dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-8 minutes, then place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly and cut into 12 pieces. Place in a greased baking pan and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.
Notes
- These cinnamon rolls can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
- Extra frosting can be served on the side for those who like it sweeter.
